Its that time of year again, the lambs are bouncing around the fields, the sun is shining , and its finally warm enough to spend some more time outdoors. One of my favourite things to do at this time of year when I was a child was to make easter treats, in particular chocolate nests. Since then its become a kind of tradition that every year a few days before easter I can be found in the kitchen covered in chocolate (not going to lie, still wearing bunny ears too).
Chocolate Easter Nests
You will need…
- 220g your favourite chocolate
- 135g Shreddedwheat
- 200g mini eggs
- Cupcake cases of your choice
A super quick and easy recipe, first you want to prepare your shredded wheat by crumbling them finely into a bowl. Next melt your chocolate into a large bowl either in the microwave or over a pan of boiling water until its smooth and smells delicious. Once the chocolate is fully melted add the crumbled shredded wheat mixing until it lightly covered in chocolatey goodness. Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases and create a hollow to place your mini eggs in. Leave in a cool place to set completely (if you can resist that is) before tucking in, these are perfect as an afternoon pick me up with a hot cup of peppermint tea.
